MFA Illustration

Artist Name

Eilidh Muldoon

Title of Work

The Sleeping Castle

I am interested in the environments described in children’s stories and make stylised images combining architectural with figurative and naturalistic elements. My illustrations are inspired by love of pattern, interactive books and decorative arts. I have created images and paper and fabric items inspired by The Brothers Grimm Fairytales concerning ubiquitous themes of home, childhood and family relationships. Through hand-drawing, digital and printmaking methods I aim to create decorative illustrations that reflect my interest in children’s books and desire to illustrate and design stationary, packaging and giftware products. I hope to continue working as a freelance illustrator and learn about the creative industries and the rewarding experiences that images and creative practices provide.
